The inspiration for dAdvisor came from the "Transfer Lag." While 88% of UC Davis transfer students graduate, only 59% do so within two years. We realized that for many Aggies, the bottleneck isn’t the difficulty of the classes—it’s the difficulty of the administrative maze. Between the 225-unit cap, strict "Pass 1" restrictions for impacted majors like CS, and the confusion of switching from the semester to the quarter system, students are often penalized $5,000 and an extra quarter simply for "exploring" their passions. We wanted to make academic exploration safe again. We built the project using React + Typescript, and we faced many challenges to data collect.
