D&D 4E Character Builder

Inspiration

There used to be a character builder app but it was discontinued and support ended many years ago.

What it does

This is an attempt to bring it back and make it useable with my group.

How we built it

Using Claude as a consultant/tutor, I had it help me prompt Bolt to create this app

Challenges we ran into

It's a lot of math that has connections to several outputs. It crashed more than once. Character sheet layout is still pretty rough.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I've led dev teams as a creative and art director but I've never made an app by myself. This is super basic but I'm proud of it.

What we learned

In some ways it's way easier than I thought but it's about as complex a task as I thought it would be.

What's next for D&D 4E Character Builder

Burn more tokens and continue to build this thing out over the next couple months as I have free time. I would like to add my homebrew elements to this as well.
