Inspiration
Fast fashion waste is a huge environmental issue and there are often not enough resources and encouragement for people to be aware of their waste.
What it does
Get2Give is a log where users can track their donations and thrifts and earn rewards. It also provides maps so users can easily find donation bins or thrift stores near them.
How we built it
HTML, CSS, JS.
Challenges we ran into
With limited web dev experience, some of the interactive elements like the changing progress bar were challenging. Also trying to access variables across multiple HTML pages with the JS.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I like how the log-in feature design came out, and also the progress bar and the pop-up that appears when you earn an award.
What we learned
I learned how to do more complicated, interactive features for websites.
What's next for Get2Give
A server to keep accounts, which would also let us implement a friends feature instead of just the Share option. Also the Google Maps API only has a limited amount of free data, so expanding the locations beyond the data right now.
