Inspiration
This project is addressing the real problems associated with the entry of pilgrims to Mecca and the holy places, by building a smart bus to ensure that only authorized pilgrims pass.
What is do?
Detect pedestrians and count people entering the buss, then the Pilgrim will scan their card that include the pilgrim name, passport and Hajj permit. When we scan the card and the card is for authorized person will compare the number of people in the buss equal namber of scanned cards if the reduce the number of people entered the buss. finally will give green light if all people in the buss scanned their card and all of them are authorized otherwise the light will be red. once the light is red means this this buss has unauthorized people and need to be checked and not entering the Mashaer Muna and Arafat.
How we built it
We have built an intelligent system detecting motion of pedestrian from the camera and the pilgrims from a smart that they should hold. In the system, we use OpenCV and Python to get the images from the camera and detect the motion of the pedestrians and then it checks the number of people getting in and out the buss. Each bus should have a card reader to scan the RFID cards for Pilgrims.
