Inspiration

Haji Saleh has registered to Hajj this year, although he had one concern: He is diabetic, and he needs daily insulin dosage, which isn't good to be hold in hot climate or through airports. When he spoke this out to the registrant, he told him not to worry, all such cases are registered on Haji Drone database.

What it does

It's a unified database with all Hajj Missions and all their Pilgrimages, allowing them (Hajies and mission officers) to request all medications they need (and doses) in advance so our drones can deliver them daily from their distributing ground control stations wherever they are accommodated, knowing the mission location and program.

How we built it

We did use VueJs for the front end, Firebase as a backend service.

Challenges we ran into

  • Avoiding crowds to be able to provide the medical supply well in time
  • Gathering needs of each Haji in well organized form to be able to distribute them in daily basis

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Providing each individual Haji a safe experience tailored according to his needs
  • Reaching each haji providing him with his needs regardless the state of all crowds and congestion

What we learned

  • Team work
  • Rapid planning

What's next for D-025 Haji Drone

Apply the project on reality environment would open many possibilities such like:

  • Machine Learning enforced decisions and insights can be done with the amount of data we have, like amount of Hajjis with specific case and correlation with emergency requests.
  • Drones, while they are moving to/from their stations can be a good help to all other emergency service and security, by applying _ image process _ methods to detect crowd congestion or emergency cases.
