Inspiration
We’ve all been in a “study group” that was really just a group chat — PDFs nobody opened, plans nobody kept, panic before the exam. We wanted a place where people study together and actually finish.
What it does
Cycy turns a study group into a path. Upload your materials, get a roadmap, learn with an AI tutor in the same space you chat, unlock modules as you go, then finish with a certificate you can share.
How we built it
We designed the product around the journey a real group takes: join → bring notes → get a path → study together → prove you get it → finish. The tutor lives in the room with the group, not in a separate app.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping it social without becoming empty Discord. Making the tutor feel present when answers aren’t instant. Shipping the full story in a short time instead of polishing forever.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A group can walk in with raw notes and walk out with a roadmap, progress, and a public certificate — in one place, with friends still in the chat.
What we learned
Structure is kindness. AI helps most when it shows what you’re missing, not when it just talks. Finish lines matter more than feature lists.
What's next for Cycy
Clearer in-chat checks, leaderboards, spaced review, easier group discovery, and certificates that feel as good as they look.
