imagine this with tall oak canopy along either side...going to the beach with maybe a hip cycle cafe / lunch spot along the way
-
safe intersections
-
detached and wide for 2 cycles to ride side by side
-
also amazing
-
I can imagine this to be very common if these paths used former trash alleys where cars access the front of shops and cycles the back. cool!

this is very ambitious but none the less amazing
inspiration - University of Amsterdam Unravelling the Cycling City
What it does - connects the entire county with safe wide shaded cycling highways detached from automobile roads
How I built it - imaginary, but existing in the Netherlands
Challenges I ran into - Not Applicable
Accomplishments that I'm proud of - I'm proud of the Netherlands
What I learned - this city has no such or very fragmented cycling corridors
What's next for Cycling Highways - for it to be mainstreamed and accepted as a critically important value added social capital building investment for our region. Then to be built.
Built With
- cement
- existingtrashalleys
- ledlighting
- trees
