Inspiration

Walking past a 62-million-ton garbage pile near my college in Delhi, I saw plastic bottles, torn books, and crushed cans — all mixed, all ignored.
I asked: “What if every Indian could recycle — without apps, without effort, and without trust issues?”
That’s when CycleSight AI was born:

A WhatsApp bot that verifies recycling with AI — so no one can cheat.

What it does

1. User sends a photo of trash → Gemini Flash classifies it (plastic, paper, metal, etc.)
   
2. Bot replies: “Plastic bottle! Recycle → saves 1.2 kg CO₂” +50 pts
   
3. User sends proof in recycle bin → AI checks:
   
   • Same item? (object tracking)
     
   • In a bin? (vision)
     
4. Verified → +100 pts, CO₂ saved, leaderboard update
   
5. India-wide: Auto-detects city/state from phone number
   

1 million users = 182,000 tons CO₂ saved per year
