CyberSpace

Inspiration

I’ve always been intrigued by the iss and rocket launches and I wanted to be able to see all this data right from my phone. I want to one day see the iss in orbit above me as that would be really cool and now it’s possible with this app as I was hoping to get notifications for when the iss is nearby the user but I didn’t have much time. I like learning about nasa and their astronauts as well.

What it does

Provides very valuable information such as Rocket Launch times, iss location, astronauts in space etc.

How we built it

Well I looked for public apis that provide this information to me such as coordinates and names no parsed the json data in my app and provided a lot more functionality to serve as a dashboard for space enthusiasts.

Challenges we ran into

Parsing all that json data, displaying the coordinates on the map etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The design and parsing all those chunks of json, and also displaying the iss location on the map with the users location.

What we learned

Parsing JSON, presenting Wikipedia pages in my safari view controller in my app, exquisite designs lol. Also map views in swiftui

What's next for CyberSpace

Notifications, AppStore Release, more info for the rocket launches such as images and coordinates.
