CyberShield AI — Smarter Phishing Awareness
Inspiration
Phishing messages and online scams often use urgency, impersonation, and misleading links to trick people. CyberShield AI aims to make cybersecurity awareness easier by helping users understand suspicious messages in simple language.
What it does
CyberShield AI is a proposed AI-powered cybersecurity assistant that analyzes suspicious emails, SMS messages, and message text. It aims to identify common phishing indicators, explain potential risks, and recommend safer next steps.
How we plan to build it
The planned prototype uses Python for security-analysis tools and a conversational interface to demonstrate how an AI assistant can use tools to analyze a message and return an understandable result. The project is intended to explore an Alexa+-style assistant experience and tool-based AI interactions.
Challenges and learning goals
Key challenges include distinguishing suspicious indicators from legitimate messages, explaining risk assessments transparently, and avoiding false assurances that a message is safe. The project aims to explore how AI agents can support defensive cybersecurity and improve users' security awareness.
Security and limitations
CyberShield AI is intended for defensive awareness and education. Its assessments cannot guarantee that a message or link is safe. Users should never share passwords, banking credentials, or one-time passwords with the assistant.
