Inspiration

CyberScope was inspired by the growing number of network security threats and the need for simple, accessible tools to understand and identify fundamental network vulnerabilities. The project aims to make cybersecurity assessment easier for students, beginners, and organizations by using open-source security tools.

What We Learned

Through this project, we learned how network vulnerabilities can be identified and analyzed using practical cybersecurity techniques. We gained experience with network scanning, service enumeration, vulnerability assessment, and interpreting security findings. We also learned how to evaluate vulnerabilities based on their potential security impact.

How We Built It

CyberScope was developed by combining multiple open-source cybersecurity tools to create a structured vulnerability analysis workflow. The project focuses on discovering active hosts, identifying open ports and running services, analyzing potential weaknesses, and organizing the results into understandable security findings and recommendations.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was interpreting the large amount of information generated by security tools and distinguishing important vulnerabilities from normal network activity. Another challenge was ensuring that the assessment process remained accurate, organized, and easy to understand. We addressed these challenges by structuring the workflow and focusing on relevant security findings.

Outcome

CyberScope provides a practical approach to analyzing fundamental network vulnerabilities using open-source tools. It demonstrates how cybersecurity tools and systematic analysis can help identify security risks and support better network protection.
