🌟 Inspiration
In a world where corporations wage war over megacities and only rogue AIs and hackers stand between freedom and control, we were inspired by current debates on technology, privacy, and the future of urban spaces. The Chroma Awards' focus on meaningful, creative use of AI in storytelling pushed us to imagine a neon-lit siege highlighting both human ingenuity and the capabilities—and dangers—of AI. We wanted to create a project that not only pushes gameplay boundaries but also reflects on real issues facing digital societies.
🕹️ What it does
Cyberpunk: Under Siege 2 immerses players in a city on the brink, challenging them to upgrade, infiltrate, and survive chaos. You command hackers, mercs, and AIs in tactical battles for control of networks. 🤖 AI powers procedural storylines, generating dynamic missions, character dialogue, and atmospheric music that adapts to player choices. The game makes significant use of AI for game narrative, music, and character interaction to unlock new creative directions, as required by the competition.
🛠️ How we built it
- Developed in Unity with AI integrations for procedural generation, adaptive soundtrack, and responsive dialogue
- Used cloud platforms and APIs for real-time network events and multiplayer features 🌐
- Incorporated ElevenLabs and CapCut for voice synthesis and video editing, in line with sponsor tool tag requirements
- Art assets created using Freepik and Dreamina tools, adhering to fair use and originality guidelines 🎨
- All content (characters, story, music) is original and created post-February 1st, 2025, in compliance with competition rules
🧩 Challenges we ran into
- Ensuring every AI tool use was transparent and followed acceptable use policies, as mandated by the hackathon
- Creating compelling game mechanics and narrative that meet Chroma Awards' high standards for storytelling, thematic adherence, and production quality 🎭
- Avoiding existing IP and guaranteeing originality in characters, settings, and world-building ⚡
- Technical hurdles around integrating multiple cloud-based AI services without exceeding resource limits or incurring unexpected costs
