Inspiration
one day when I was scrolling, I watched a video for a girl who tells her story, this story was that: somebody called her through mobile call asking her about her credit card password as he told her he is from the bank and need her password for her account updates and unfortunately she told him the password and after less than an hour all her money was stolen by this person. From here the idea came as I found it important to help people and widen their knowledge about cybersecurity to live in secure world.
What it does
CyberLearn is a platform which help people to learn about cybersecurity, and digital risks through levels and after the user finishes all the levels, he receives a certificate. Also, the platform contains additional resources like documentations and practice lab and a button which make the user join a WhatsApp group to make users share their experiences
How I built it
I started by designing the pages then we started building like the following: we built our platform layout and interface (front end) using HTML and CSS and for the functionality and interactivity (Back end) I used JavaScript. also, I used ai photo generator to generate my background image and I got the embedded videos from YouTube.
Challenges I ran into
As we all know while working on any project, we face challenges and the true success it to face these challenges together and here is the challenges that we faced while building CyberLearn: Adding congrats animations: at first, I was not able to code animations, and I wanted to add congrats animations after passing every level, so I learnt that from YouTube. Coding the certification process: I was not able to make the process of certification, and I wanted to generate a certificate automatically for the user after completing the course but earlier I learnt how to do that.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am thrilled to have created a platform not only to educate users in cybersecurity but also to provide them with hands-on experience via the practice lab. The certificate program that provides incentives to users to finish levels is one feature that we believe will make more people learn about cybersecurity. Additionally, the inclusion of the WhatsApp group has already started to create a community where users can learn from each other and exchange experiences.
What I learned
while creating CyberLearn, I learned a lot about the importance of user experience and accessibility in learning environments. I also learned more about cybersecurity attacks and how to emulate them safely for learning. Learning how to code a complete course which contains levels and quizzes..
What's next for CyberLearn
I am working to enlarge our platform as I am working on adding more learning levels to the learning bath also, I want to make an open chat on the platform to make all members share their experiences.
