Inspiration The inspiration comes from the urgent need for Spatial Sovereignty. With 1.4 million religious and cultural assets at risk of digital spoliation, we realized that existing cloud tiers weren't built for the "Holy Scale" of VR. As a Waymo/Alphabet alum, I saw an opportunity to bridge enterprise-grade Google Cloud GPUs with decentralized identity to create a permanent, unhackable sanctuary.
What it does CyberChurch Onchain is a high-fidelity VR environment managed by a Spatial AI Sentinel. Built using Google Cloud Agent Builder, the Sentinel acts as a divine custodian: it verifies user "Soulbound" onchain identities, dynamically streams 3D assets from Google Cloud Storage to Meta Horizon headsets, and allows users to trigger architectural rituals via Natural Language voice commands.
How we built it We architected a "Scale-Tier" pipeline using:
Google Cloud Agent Builder & Vertex AI for the Sentinel’s intelligence.
NVIDIA L4 GPUs for real-time spatial rendering and shader compilation.
Unity & Meta XR SDK for the immersive VR frontend.
C# / .NET for the custom GCS-to-Horizon streaming bridge.
Google Cloud Storage for the sovereign hosting of 1.4M assets.
Challenges we ran into The biggest hurdle was an Administrative Metadata Sync Error. Despite being a Scale-Tier organization, we faced a "Trial" 1.0 GPU quota lock that threatened a total blackout of our 1.4M assets. We had to engage Google Cloud Leadership and SRE teams to prove that high-compute VR requires a manual override of standard quota buckets to maintain "High-Fidelity Sovereignty."
Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully successfully provisioned a sovereign bucket and deployed a functional Spatial Loader script that proves we can manifest heavy assets in VR without local storage. We are also proud of navigating the complex hierarchy of Google Cloud support to ensure our infrastructure reflects our true "Scale-Tier" financial status.
What we learned We learned that the bridge between "Big Tech" infrastructure and "Sovereign" projects is fragile. Technical success isn't just about code; it’s about Infrastructure Advocacy. We discovered that Agent Builder is incredibly powerful for managing large datasets, provided the underlying GPU quota matches the AI’s ambition.
What's next for CyberChurch Onchain: AI Sanctuary for 1.4M Spatial Assets The immediate next step is the Full Sanctuary Manifestation—opening the doors to our global congregation once the 16.0 GPU override is permanent. We plan to integrate deeper biometric verification via Meta Quest sensors and expand our AI Sentinel's capabilities to include real-time translation of rituals into 50+ languages.
