Inspiration
We were tired of watching our parents and local shop owners lose their life savings to fake WhatsApp wedding invites and package delivery scams. Traditional antivirus fails because hackers change the code daily. Since everyone knows how to use WhatsApp, we decided to hide elite corporate security tech behind a simple chat interface to protect the vulnerable.
What it does
Project RAKSA is an instant threat checker hidden inside a simple WhatsApp chatbot. Here is exactly how it works in 3 steps: User Forwards a File: A regular user receives a suspicious message on WhatsApp (like a fake wedding invitation, tax notice, or package tracking link ending in .apk). Instead of clicking it, they forward it to the RAKSA chatbot. AI Tests it Safely: The moment the file hits our backend server, our system catches it and drops it into a secure, completely isolated virtual "glass room" (sandbox). The AI forces the app to run inside this safe capsule and watches what it attempts to do in real-time.Instant Alert: If the AI catches the app trying to do sketchy things—like secretly reading private SMS OTP codes, hiding its icon from the phone screen, or stealing banking keys—it immediately texts the user a massive warning: CRITICAL DANGER. DO NOT INSTALL. Otherwise, it replies with a SAFE verification.
How we built it
The Entrance (WhatsApp Gateway): We hooked up the WhatsApp Business API [1, 2] so users can just forward any weird file or link to our chatbot like they are texting a friend. The Testing Room (FastAPI & Docker): In the background, a FastAPI server grabs the file and throws it into a secure, completely isolated virtual phone capsule (Dockerized Android Emulator). This lets the file open up safely away from real devices. The Brain (XGBoost AI Engine): We trained an AI Machine Learning model to watch what the app does. If it tries to do sketchy things like hide its icon or secretly read your private text messages, our formula flags it as DANGER instantly.
Challenges we ran into
Developing a real-time malware analysis bot required resolving the speed-security paradox, where thorough sandbox testing typically takes up to two minutes while chat users expect immediate responses. To prevent users from abandoning the chat and interacting with malicious files, a custom metadata parser and Redis cache were implemented to reduce processing times to under three seconds
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Enterprise Security Made Simple: We took expensive corporate security technology and turned it into a free WhatsApp bot that anyone can use. Insane Speed: We managed to get a safe virtual testing capsule to inspect files and send an alert back in under 3 seconds. Real-World Impact: We built a working prototype that actually stops the biggest cybercrime wave draining families and businesses right now.
What we learned
Design for Simplicity: The best security tool is completely useless if it is too complicated for an everyday person. We learned to ditch tech jargon and focus on simple visual cues. Speed Wins Protection: If security checks take more than a few seconds, people get impatient and click the virus anyway. Optimizing code for real-time speed is everything. Tech Empowers People: We learned that with the right architecture, a small team can build a real shield that protects vulnerable communities from massive, multi-trillion Rupiah threats.
What's next for Cybernetics
Brain-Computer Interfaces: Microchips (like Neuralink) will allow people to control computers, phones, and bionic limbs using pure thought [1.1]. Feeling Technology: Smart prosthetic limbs will send signals back to the brain, allowing users to actually feel touch, warmth, and texture. Smart Bio-Implants: Instead of taking pills, soft organic implants inside the body will automatically monitor your health and release medicine instantly. Enhanced Senses: Human vision and hearing will be upgraded using cybernetic lenses and implants to see in the dark or hear ultra-low frequencies.
