Inspiration
After a phone call with Gordon Wintrob, the CTO and Co-founder of Newfront Insurance, I realized there were some flaws within the insurance brokerage industry of cyber insurance. With my experience with blockchain and cryptocurrency, I realized that in a growing field like cyber insurance everyone should have the ability to partake in insuring their digital assets - especially in the age of Non-Fungible Tokens.
What it does
Cyberance. coin will act as a brokerage with an OTC (Over-the-Counter) approach to cyber insurance. Allowing anyone to create any proposed cyber insurance contract and anyone willing to act as an insurer of any insurance contract. This would especially help people in the rise of NFT’s and conventional digital assets.
How we built it
We currently have a prototype, although not capable of handling a lot of users. It uses ethereum’s blockchain to create and store users' accounts. Then uses the CyberanceCoin ERC20 token to allow people to store ethereum into this token for the contract. This is the basic front end (still a work in progress); [https://digitize-insurance.herokuapp.com/]
Challenges we ran into
The ability to create the project scalable and user-friendly for non-developers to consistently rely on the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The project is live and built. I’m most proud of the fact that the product is functional from a technical point.
What we learned
I learned that it’s more effective to bring people along with you on the journey of building a product than to build it alone.
What's next for Cyberance.coin
I’d love to scale this out to real-world users and see where this takes me :)
