[Note: We are also submitting this game to the most useless category as we believe that just because something is fun and functioning doesn't mean it's useful. Playing Cyber Brawl will earn you no worldwide accolades or earn you prestige amongst your gamer friends. It'll just keep you occupied.]

Are you ever bored in the house and in the house, bored?

Well, then this game is for you. Perfect for people that love superheroes, action movie characters, and just vibing by themselves at home (or wherever you play games)

What it does

You begin by pressing start after selecting a character based on their stats (displayed) or letting the game pick a random one out of nearly a thousand characters to fight with. You square up against your opponent (the bot) by selecting options such as outsmarting, out-powering, or just being too fast and durable than them. You win if your opponent reaches 0 and you lose if you reach 0 first.

Build Process

We used superheroapi to load all our characters and their stats and used javascript to program the bot's functionality as well as process each attack. Using HTML and CSS, we created beautiful pages that are just begging to be played on as well as comforting win/loss pages.

Challenges we ran into

We had a few hiccups in the javascript code as well as trouble formatting and styling the pages using CSS on numerous occasions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first-ever shot at creating a browser game (or actually any game for that matter). We were able to make a functioning game that came out almost just as we imagined it.

What we learned

We learned how to incorporate APIs, got more practice building awesome looking sites, and how to create Javascript algorithms and push those results into the front-end

What's next for Cyber Brawl

We plan on adding more features and characters sometime in the future.
