Inspiration
A chance to work with virtual reality and motion detection using the Oculus Rift and the Leap Motion.
How it works
The virtual environment is created and the user is able to navigate through the rooms using the Oculus Rift by turning their head and by using hand gestures to move.
Challenges I ran into
Actually getting the actor to move in the screen. Changing textures of the wall. Interfacing both the Oculus Rift and Leap Motion together.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I MADE THINGS MOVE. I made a virtual reality environment.
What I learned
Virtual reality is very "twitchy" and requires you to have very good sensors.
What's next for Cutie Gallery featuring UCR Cuties
We will be expanding our art gallery, allowing the user to relive their hackathon experience using the Oculus Rift. Users will also be able to swipe through more pictures using different hand gestures. Side note: also, we will implement a move-back function.
