What it does

It's a booknook and can fit onto a standard bookshelf between your favorite books, like a little surprise world waiting to be discovered. It is a cute, aesthetic piece of art that can elevate any bookshelf. If you like reading, coffee, and or cats, this is perfect for you! Why settle for a boring old painting on the wall when you can have a mini cafe on your shelf?

How I built it

I scavenged whatever materials I could find. It's mostly made from cardboard and wood scraps I lasercut, then assembled, glued, and painted.

Challenges I ran into

I was kind of making things up as I went, because I didn't have a lot of time and wanted to sleep, so I only spent an hour or so planning/sketching things out. I also changed the initial booknook scene like 5 times. It was almost going to be my favorite scene from pride and prejudice, but I thought cats were vibier.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I actually got to sleep this time.

What's next for cute cozy cat cafe

It would be really cool to have an AR overlay using the physical booknook as a base, maybe with some animations. I also wanted to have better lighting, possibly with soldering some leds but didn't have time.
