Inspiration
I was working earlier in the hackathon on a project where I would make a multitasking browser; it was a little more than I could chew. While my friend was showing his project, I noticed he had done an extension, and I realized I could do a lot more with an extension. So I looked at the core of my project: I wanted to make things efficient. I then came up with an idea of a shortcut builder where YOU build the shortcut, literally anything is possible. Go to youtube check, Google search, and return the first result, check, delete any unnecessary tabs, check.
What it does
It allows you to make your OWN shortcuts using simple, intuitive building blocks in drop-down boxes. Using it, you can code your own short cut.
How we built it
I used Microsoft Copilot to build the extension.
Challenges we ran into
I had no experience coming into this hackathon with extensions, and so it was a major struggle to get the extension working and to debug its bugs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am really proud that I could make an MVP of this idea in just 2-3 days, since this is one of the ambitious projects I've worked on in recent years.
What we learned
I learned how to make extensions and quirks of extensions
What's next for Cut.infinity
I would like to make this an actual, fully-fledged 100+ extra feature extension with built in ai to help you make those extensions. If this isn't gonna be uploaded to a store at least it will make my work faster, so I can do the things I love doing.
