Inspiration

As a lead cloud consultant, I often had two types of people struggling with learning cloud. 1) total juniors and 2) people with a lot of experience but new to cloud. There is simply too much to learn, so where to get started? This tool is to help them out and plan their training path with USEFUL skills.

What it does do

It finds out where you want to go by asking questions. Then it finds out where you are now. Then, it does a step by step skill gap analysis to find out what you need and how you can train it.

How we built it

I focussed on interactively asking questions. Nobody can really describe themselves well or their goals in one go. They need clarifying questions. This tools helps them by chatting with them.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenges are findings good up to date information on what job roles need for tech. People don't know this themselves often. A team lead could enter these skills for them instead of generating them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The structure is actually quite helpful. Also by outputting each step, I think people will be helped because they can go back to the start and refine what more they want to learn, or add a skill they forgot and see the impact on the gap analysis.

What we learned

It's more useful and easy to set up than I imagined!
