Inspiration
At large events like Hacklahoma, the facilities can sometimes get ruined by the large number of people. We wanted to create a way for custodial staff to better monitor the situation.
What it does
Our web application is to be used for custodial staff to manage a property. In the app, you can create QR code to be posted in a room such as a bathroom that links to a google form. In the google form, people can post problems with the room (such as a lack of paper towels in a bathroom). When a user submits this form, it updates the web application to show the issues with the rooms. A janitor could use this application to monitor what rooms need attention and to deliver faster results.
How I built it
We used flask, python, HTML, CSS, and javascript to build the site, and connected to Google sheets API and MongoDB
Challenges I ran into
We faced issues with implementing integrations with Google Cloud and MongoDB, especially in terms of dealing with communication using multiple APIs.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were able to successfully integrate the database with our website and dynamically add and remove things from the database.
What I learned
We learned how to use MongoDB and how to coordinate a project with a team.
What's next for Custodio
Complete our integration with Google Apps and MongoDB.
