About the game

The Curse of Scallywag Island is a game were you on an island are given a flintlock and a cannon and are forced to try and survive rounds of enemies. To stay alive, you must kill your enemies for a chance for them to drop more weapon ammo and rum (health).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that were able to make a functioning game with a complete gameplay loop, enemies, map, power ups, etc. Two of our group members never touched Godot before this Hackathon and we only had one really experienced member. Getting the spawning system for enemies as well as their logic done was really satisfying. We underwent several map iterations to perfect our final project to get the map size, lighting, and feel of our game just right. The UI ended up looking pretty sweet. All of the enemy animations were made by ourselves. We also found really good sounds that matched the funny overall theme we were going for.

What we learned

The power of friendship (and the pain of git merge conflicts). None of us knew each other prior to this hackathon, but were all very driven to make the best project we can. We hope you guys enjoy our game!
