Inspiration-

Our team consisted of a group of international students and since we all had trouble calculating the value of our purchases with respect to our original currency, we decided to work on this particular project.

What it does-

It takes a certain some of money in a particular chosen currency and then converts the amount into another currency of your choosing as fast as possible. 160+ currencies are supported by it.

How we built it-

We first met in person to discuss the finer details of our project on a notepad and divide the work among us. Then we started doing research on our parts of the project. We went through the internet, watched videos on Youtube and asked the nearby mentors for help. After we completed our individual parts we uploaded them on GitHub and started linking and debugging them. After a long, complicated session, our project was finally complete.

Challenges we ran into-

We faced many problems as our team wasn't very experienced and it was our very first project. We faced problems while importing APIs, creating the boxes for the application and classes not functioning properly when called.

Accomplishments that we're proud of-

We are proud of the fact that we completed our project, fully functioning, on time with no major bugs that we could find.

What we learned-

We learned about how to import APIs, use Java Swing and debugging.

What's next for Currency Exchange-

Our next goal is to make the application more user friendly. We plan to change the ISN 3 letter codes to full forms to make it easier for the users to understand. We also plan to customize the application so it looks more appealing to people.
