Inspiration

In India, there are still many backward places where the problem of sexual health care of girls and women aren't taken care of. There are hygiene issues which in turn lead to several diseases and harm their sexual health.

Major gaps in relief measures related to SRH are documented by non-governmental organizations. “I would say various NGOs do try to map out responses during floods and distribution of sanitary pads is one line item in their matrix. During floods, pregnant women suffered in terms of accessing sanitation services. In most of the flood prone areas, the toilets were constructed on a high platform (as a disaster resilient model). Thus, pregnant women faced issues with climbing up and accessing the toilets, especially because they needed to use the toilet more frequently.

  • Public toilets during floods get either submerged or destroyed. Hence, the use of toilet gets limited.
  • Additionally, accessing medical facilities is often a challenge for women.

Given this, domiciliary deliveries are frequent, which could be life threating under unhygienic circumstances. During floods, many government hospitals also got water logged. In those conditions, even the institutional deliveries were conducted in an unhygienic manner.

What it does

It will connect affected women with the experienced doctors on a call/video chat. This will help them to solve their problem by seeking the relevant advice from experienced doctors.

furthermore, If an affected women needs some other resource so as to survive in that condition, she can contact organizations/NGOs in the area. The Orgs can provide monetary benefits/shelter/medicines/clothes/food etc.

How we built it

Technologies used : -> ReactJs -> JavaScript -> Html -> CSS ->React-DOM

Challenges we ran into

There were many times when we were searching for relevant information and case studies related to IRC challenge theme. Further more, we used many online blogs so as to implement the concepts and the image in our mind into code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We completed the front-end part as of now and have implemented those concepts which we haven't used before.

What we learned

We learnt how to build multi page websites using react router. However, it is still under construction and development.

What's next for CureFem

We are planning to add Stream Chat, WhatsApp API and API to fetch and display the details of Doctors, Patients & Organizations. There will be KYC updates as well in the form of video chat. This will help in identifying the real patient from the fake one.
