Inspiration

We were inspired by a similar game called Plague Inc. We thought it would be an interesting idea, to make a game were you play as the humans, to try and fight back against the virus.

What it does

This game is a simulator of how a disease would spread, and how we can adapt to the circumstances to mitigate the impact of the disease on society. This is done through an upgrade tree system, where each upgrade represents another action society can take to limit the spread of the virus.

How we built it

We used Java with Swing for the GUI. We used OOP with Swing to be able to create a GUI that could easilly go between each object.

Challenges we ran into

Only one of our team members knew how to code, so we ended up going at a much slower rate than anticipated.

We participated in our first hackathon.

What's next for Cure Inc.

Probably to make the GUI look decent, implement a more in depth upgrade tree system, implement multiple countries, and include random events.
