Inspiration
People constantly have to search across the entire internet for a collection of jobs that applies to their interest, location and employer. Our tool aims to solve this with a good UI and UX
What it does
Currently, gathers all info from Costar and Parson job listings and stores them in our API backend as JSON When a user provides key words and contraints, we filter and provide an adequete list of job titles, link to apply, job info and company
How we built it
Using Chrome Extension to gather and package the data from each Platform/Company with JavaScript and Front-End manipulation, and the python flask API to recieve, store, analzye and present the data to the user on an HTML view
Challenges we ran into
Formatting, reverse engineering new sites, using Flask as a website, packaging data in JSON and parsing through, HTML parsing errors
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Ease of use, very specific to intended area of expertise and location that they prefer, etc
What we learned
How to use Chrome Extensions, DOM manipulation, reverse engineering, API testing, JSON parsing, website creation
What's next for Curate
Widen to other companies, as we were attempting to do with the other 4 sponsors at RamHacks Improve the presentation of data to user Implement storage of data with SQL db
