Inspiration
Buying textbooks are expensive, and I wanted to make a way to buy textbooks from former students, as to make it cheaper. But then I realized that there are so many more things that CUNY students need more than cheap textbooks, like to find housing.
What it does
It is a general forum that students can interact across CUNY campuses.
How we built it
Used alibaba to host the website and then purchase domain from alibaba. Then build a file- sublime text to transfer files to FileZilla to the cloud.
Challenges we ran into
The most difficult part is the database part, because you need to log in users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A fully functioning website, that students can make an account and post from in a variety of subjects- from if they need interns to if they want to sell a textbook.
What we learned
I personally learned how better pitch and build a powerpoint from the pitch presentation.
What's next for CUNYStudent Post
Building a website that is more secure and aesthetically pleasing for students to visit.
