Inspiration

Our project, CUNY Connect, was inspired by the need to create a seamless platform for students and alumni within the CUNY system to connect, collaborate, and access valuable resources. We aimed to bridge gaps and enhance opportunities within the CUNY community by leveraging technology.

What it does

CUNY Connect offers essential information about CUNY resources, such as food pantries, library details, workshops, fire drill alerts, and more. Users can also sign up for our free messaging service to receive updates tailored to their selected college.

How we built it

We developed CUNY Connect using Express.js for our backend server and MongoDB for storing event data and user information. (Most of the work was done in replit, then we just created a github repo)

What we learned

Every team member actively contributed to the project and gained experience with new technologies, including Express.js, MongoDB, responsive CSS, and HTML.

What's next for CUNYConnect

Our team plans to expand coverage to 11 colleges (matching the CTP network). We are also exploring additional types of information to integrate into CUNYConnect.
