Inspiration
We know that CUNY is the most diverse college system in the world. When we formed a team every single person on our team was bilingual. However, as students we never take advantage of that unique learning opportunity. Therefore we made an app that allows you to connect with others to learn new languages.
What it does
CUNY smb is an app that allows you to choose what language you want to learn and find a perfect match.
How we built it
Built the app using Swift and Xcode. Used Firebase as our backend service for user credentials and match records. We also made a website to promote the app using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of actually being able to build our mvp in the short time period given.
What we learned
We learned how to work together as a team! Collaborative skills are instrumental in designing a product from an idea to mvp or a finished product. This project allowed us to connect and learn.
What's next for CUNY smb
Perfecting the matchmaking algorithm, possibly an Android App.
