Inspiration
CUNY is an organization, with a lot going on all the time. If you're a particular student needing specific help, it's hard to find what you are looking for, especially in CUNY's giant library of resources. That's where this website comes in, it is built to help students quickly find essential needs.
What it does
We've built a website that redirects users to resources based on their needs. It is easy to utilize, and understand.
How we built it
We used HTML and CSS to build the site.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, our group had planned a site bigger than we could manage. We wanted to include AI search functionalities on the site, but unfortunately, that task was out of our reach. We did not let that bring us down, however, as we worked through that initial approach and instead focused on the skills we had and could learn fast.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our site, as we accomplished this within 3 days, and of the individual skills each of us learned throughout this process.
What we learned
Everyone on the team learned something from each other, and working within a team helped us better understand the technical work environment.
What's next for CUNY Community Portals
Hopefully more development on the site onto a full-fledged cuny software.
