Inspiration
What inspired us to design our project was the fact that we imagined making an app where ALL CUNY resources are readily available in one website and for all CUNY schools. We wanted to form a hub for all students that is iconic to CUNY.
What it does
Our web app will ask CUNY students for their desired CUNY and their desired service and the app will output local data depending on the selected CUNY options as well as providing all resources for students regardless of CUNY.
How we built it
With a very talented team we split our tasks into different roles. A team member handled all of the frontend code and design while 2 other team members handled data collection and longitude/latitude. This role was designated to find the closest resources by specified CUNY. Our final teammate helped with developing backend to work with the data collected. Our tech stack was HTML/CSS, JS, and Python
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge involved lack of time. An example of this was our ambition to add many interesting features however due to lack of time we were not able to complete the extra features
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were extremely pleased with developing the app in our designated image and the design of the website came out very promising. We felt as though we developed a professional CUNY service that can be easily imbedded within CUNY itself.
What we learned
We primarily learned to work as a team and learned how to combine each of our efforts to make something worth while.
What's next for CUNY Aid Access
We intend to add those previously mentioned features that are absent. Even past the time limit we aim to improve the app and maybe later pitch it at a higher level.
