The Idea
Culture shapes what we love, where we go, what we watch and what inspires us. But discovering meaningful connections between these interests might not be too easy. We built CultureSpace to bring those connections together.
How We Built It
CultureSpace combines Qloo's cultural intelligence API with a custom web experience to explore four areas: artists, movies, restaurants and travel. Users can discover culturally relevant recommendations and turn their findings into structured creative project briefs. We built the platform with Next.js, React and TypeScript, and deployed it as a live, mobile-friendly application.
Challenges & Lessons
One of our biggest challenges was making cultural discovery useful across different categories without sacrificing relevance. We refined the search experience and tested different inputs to improve recommendations, especially for movie discovery. We learned that integrating an API is only the beginning, the real work is turning its intelligence into an experience people can actually use.
What's Next?
Our vision is to make cultural intelligence a starting point for creativity, not just a way to find recommendations. CultureSpace transforms what people love into new possibilities for what they can create.
