Inspiration

We wanted to show people historic traditions that are disappearing as we speak. We wanted to create something that could preserve these traditions in an interactive, accessible way, giving people a reason to rediscover the games their grandparents played and pass that knowledge on to the next generation before it's lost for good.

What it does

You will travel the world discovering new traditional games. Every corner of the world holds a game waiting to be discovered, each one steeped in centuries of history, culture, and community. As you travel, you won't just learn the rules; you'll also uncover the stories behind them. Along the way, you'll be able to explore each game through immersive 3D models, giving you a genuine sense of the pieces, boards, and objects used, almost as if you were holding them yourself.

How we built it

We researched and studied multitude of cultures and their games. Then the 3d Models were made in blender by an experienced member. From there, we developed the website itself, using Generative AI tools such as Claude 4.8 and ChatGPT to help us move quickly

Challenges we ran into

Team disagreements on what the idea should be was the biggest hurdle we faced. It lead to a point where the team nearly separated. Early on, we had multiple strong but conflicting visions for the project, and communication broke down at several points as everyone pushed for their own direction.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Adding 3d models and interactive web cam features were the main highlight of our project and we're incredibly proud of how far we pushed ourselves technically to make them work.

What we learned

We learned how to navigate team doubt and disagreements in a way that keeps everyone feeling included and heard. More than any specific technical skill, this project taught us how to communicate under pressure, how to listen to teammates even when we disagreed with them.

What's next for Cultural games

If the project continues to ignite team motivation. We plan to add more games with expansive history and meaning behind them.
