🧠 Inspiration The inspiration behind Culinary E-King came from the growing need for a seamless and specialized platform that connects food enthusiasts with gourmet ingredients, cooking essentials, and kitchenware in one place. With more people cooking at home, we wanted to simplify the shopping experience and promote regional culinary treasures from across the country.
💻 What it does Culinary E-King is an e-commerce platform tailored for culinary needs. It allows users to:
Browse and purchase groceries, spices, cookware, and recipes
Get personalized recommendations based on dietary preferences
Track orders and receive real-time delivery updates
Explore curated recipe bundles with one-click ingredient checkout
🛠️ How we built it We developed the platform using:
Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (with responsiveness via media queries)
Backend: Node.js with Express.js (for API handling)
Database: MongoDB (for storing user data and product info)
Payment Integration: Razorpay (sandbox mode)
Deployment: GitHub + Netlify for frontend, Render for backend
We used Figma for UI/UX mockups and Git for version control during team collaboration.
🧩 Challenges we ran into Integrating real-time order tracking was complex due to limited backend time.
Ensuring mobile responsiveness across all product cards and checkout modals took longer than expected.
Handling category-based filtering dynamically required restructuring our database schema mid-way.
