Inspiration
We wanted to make a simple game, so we decided to base our ideas off a popular game that trended years ago.
Game Description
Jump through pipes to avoid death. Hold F to hold vertical position. While you are alive, your score increases continuously. Try zen mode to play without the worry of death!
How we built it
We used libGDX, a java framework that allows the development of desktop and mobile game.
Challenges we ran into
Formation of the pipes was a challenge that required many attempts to get the desired outcome.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of getting the playable object to have a gravity effect and the map to appear as if it was the playable object moving.
Getting the pipes to resemble to how they look in the original game is another thing we are proud of.
What we learned
We learned how to set up different menus, implement cooldowns, utilize user inputs, and the background and the pipe formation change dynamically.
What's next for Cube Game
We want to add more mechanics that allow manipulation of not only the player, but the pipes. For example, the player would be able to slow down the rate at which the pipes appear.
We also want to polish the menu and appearance of text.
