Inspiration : Campus students often face problems like losing items, reporting issues (WiFi, hostel, classroom), or finding basic campus information. Usually, these problems require contacting different departments, which is slow and inconvenient. We wanted to build a smart centralized system where students can easily report issues and get instant help using AI.

What it does : CU SmartDesk is an AI-powered campus helpdesk that allows students to:

Report lost items

Report found items

Submit campus complaints

Ask questions through an AI campus assistant

How we built it : We built the system using a combination of frontend and backend technologies:

Frontend: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript

Backend: Python Flask

AI Integration: Google Gemini API

Communication: REST API using JSON

Challenges we ran into : Some of the challenges we faced were:

Integrating the AI chatbot with the Flask backend

Handling API requests and responses correctly

Designing a clean and responsive UI

Managing form data submission between frontend and backend
