Inspiration

We had a silly idea, and we executed it. Try it out yourself at cufries.com.

What it does

We reverse engineered the CampusDish API and used it to grab data about what fries were in what locations and when.

How we built it

The website was built using Next.js, and self-hosted by David on his Raspberry Pi server.

Challenges we ran into

We had some ideas about how to make the site even better, but unfortunately we ran out of time. Time was the biggest killer of ideas in this hackathon. Now that it's over, we're looking forward to the future possibilities!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to put together a fully functioning project within 24 hours! That's definitely something to be proud of.

What we learned

Teamwork makes the dream work. That and caffeine.

What's next for CU Fries

We plan to continue updating the site and fixing bugs. We would also like to expand from just fries into all the food at the dining halls, allowing students to see where their favorite foods are at a glance.
