Inspiration
In 2023, 1.3 billion people traveled around the world. Additionally, the revenue generated from travel and tourism globally is estimated to reach $927 billion in 2024. Experiences are more important to travelers than purchasing items or finding the best deals, which is why my project aims to help travelers capture their memories digitally so that they can reflect on their experiences and see where they have traveled to in the past.
What it does
My project allows users to track where and when they have traveled to a specific location through a digital journal. Users are able to create new journal entries every time they visit somewhere new.
How I built it
I used React, CSS, and JavaScript to build this project.
Challenges I ran into
It was difficult to fully build this project given the time constraint.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of the final result! It took a lot of debugging to get to the final result, so I'm proud of myself for finishing this project.
What I learned
I learned a lot more about React throughout this project. I didn't have much experience with React before, but I now feel a lot more comfortable with React.
What's next for Ctrl + Blog: Commanding Your Story
I hope to expand upon the existing features and allow users to filter based on different ratings and based on the time in which they visited a particular place.
