Inspiration:

The Neurological Music Therapy Institute of Arizona presented us with issues they were having with their information technology. We opted to help resolve issues specifically with their website. The main problems with the website were that 1) the design is outdated compared to current business website practices and 2) the ability to upload videos was unintuitive for staff members.

What it does:

The website we created offers a modern interpretation of NMTSA's present website with more intuitive functionality and consolidated information.

How we built it:

We first created a mockup design for the website with Wix, then we built the mockup with a ReactJS front-end and a NodeJS backend, using various libraries and APIs.

Challenges we ran into:

We initially struggled with the planning of the website, trying to balance maintainability and functionality for staff members who are not tech-savvy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We created a modern interpretation of the NMTSA website and consolidated website information to make it more easily navigable. We added login functionality that allows distinction between paid users, free users, and admin users.

What we learned:

Good planning is paramount to a successful launch. We discovered that investing time upfront in understanding user needs, mapping out system architecture, and creating detailed wireframes prevented costly revisions later in the development process.

What's next for Ctrl-Alt-Del-NMTSA Website:

The front-end certainly requires more polish. Specifically, more information from the original website needs to be imported, the donation page needs to include a section for corporate donors, and more functionality could be added to the video upload feature.
