Cthulhu Teaches Typing

Inspiration

I built this project with fellow LHL students. We all liked mechanical keyboards, and we all had at least a couple of them, but we didn't like any of the existing sites for testing them out. Aside from typings.gg, they were all hideous, and typings.gg didn't have much in the way of functionality. We wanted something clean and pretty that would keep track of how fast we could each type on the various keyboards we owned. I also thought it would be funny to give it a cosmic horror theme!

What it does

If you just want a simple typing test, you can click the area in the middle of the screen and start typing. Press "space" when a word is complete (you can use backspace or arrow keys to edit it until then), and it'll move off to the left of the screen. If the word is spelled right, it'll turn gold; if you spelled it wrong, it'll turn red, shake, and go "SPLAT!" After a minute, you'll get your WPM and accuracy.

You can also log in to setup multiple keyboards and test them out. Choose a layout for each keyboard, set colours for the frame and the keys, and give it a name--every time you take a typing test with it, your results will be saved to that keyboard. In your profile, you can see graphs of your results.
