Inspiration
Our main inspiration was PC Part Picker, but how this type of website can solve the issue of buying different types of clothes.
What it does
Our web page MERGES products from different retailers into one central place.
How we built it
We built it using Python with Flask and Jinja templating for the web pages. Using BeautifalSoup and Selenuim the retailers were scraped and stored with SQLite. Kim handled cart and Build Your Outfit page, Raj handled browse page, Ashish handled comparison and Chris handled web scraping, the SQL tables and helping with any issues.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how to handle the webscraping correctly. Understanding Jinja and Flask.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That we were all able to learn something about each individual aspect we respectively worked on. Also seeing the data actually appear on the page after it was scraped was verying satisfying.
What we learned
We learned a lot about Flask and Jinja specifcally along with how to web scrape as it was not something any of us were exposed to beforehand.
