Now that laundry is free at Yale, there's almost no reason for students to use the CSCPay app. While it originally worked as a way to add funds to your account and pay, it no longer serves much of a purpose. I wanted to reimagine the app by creating a centralized information system where people can create community messages, notify other users to take out their laundry, and make reservations for machines during a 10-minute time period.
During the process, I learned how to analyze pre-existing apps by examining their user experience problems and working to create solutions that address those issues. One of the challenges I faced was trying to format the app to still be user-friendly and intuitive while also transforming the original app into a centralized user information system that's largely different from the original design.
