Lack of consistent patient history for researchers

What it does

Surveys community of dementia patients and their caregivers for daily/weekly responses to subjective questions related to the patient's cognitive, physical and emotional well-being.

How I built it

Using ASP.NET web api, php, modxcloud, azure, Tableau

Challenges I ran into

Making the app compelling enough to be used everyday by the caregiver. To address this, we have implemented reporting targeted to the caregiver, Ability to leverage a Facebook community for tips, tricks and coping techniques.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Good looking easy to use app targeting all ages. An ability to extend the app to include other ways of reaching out to the community and providing advice to the caregivers.

What I learned

We learnt that we can build something incredibly compelling in short times. Clarity in the idea and constantly thinking about the person and not the prizes helped the team keep focus on why we participated in this hackathon.

What's next for CS4-Deloitte GTS

Polling the community, notifications to users, caregiver questions, caregiver and patient consent, multiple caregiver access and reporting, paper printed materials, services availability in their geography, quality of institutional care and reports, tips and coping techniques for dealing with dementia patients, the fact that questions can be configured.
