Inspiration

At this stage, majority of crypto investors don't truly understand the intricacies and potential of the technology they are invested in. But that's not their fault. Not everyone comes from a technical background. The FOMO is real. People don't wanna miss out.

However, it is extremely important to understand the fundamentals of an investment before committing to it. The crypto space is a nascent one. Crypto-investing is unlike traditional investing where an investor analyses P&L or balance sheets. There is a completely new spectrum of factors to consider, ranging from tokenenomics to yield-farming strategies. Investors need some form of data to guide them, especially when they’ve just joined this space.

What it does

cryptorookie.io is an ecosystem of tools that makes you an informed crypto investor.

At the moment, we have 2 features live — compare coins and calculate crypto passive rewards.

How we built it

We researched and surveyed people on crypto tools they most commonly use and started building from there. This was why we settled on the compare coins and calculate rewards features for our MVP.

What we learned

There are many good tools on the market, but most are not beginner friendly.
There are many beginners that are intimidated by tools that are not user friendly
It will be an uphill battle competing with bigger players that has advanced tools in the future

What's next for cryptorookie.io

Eventually when we gain enough traction in terms of reputation and usership, we have plans to transform this traditional business model into a Web3.0 Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO). This means that the organisation would, in the future, be self-governing and community-owned. To achieve that, we’ll be using NFTs to signify membership in the organisation.
