Inspiration
We noticed that crypto markets react to news within minutes, but no one can realistically monitor dozens of sources at once. The idea came from stock-market alert bots that notify investors about significant events — we wanted to build something similar for crypto, where reaction speed to news is critical.
What it does
CryptoPunch AI is a Telegram bot that:
- collects crypto news from multiple sources in real time
- uses AI to score how significant each news item is and its potential market impact
- sends users a clear alert explaining what happened and why it matters
- lets users filter news by specific coins or topics ## How we built it The backend pulls news through source APIs and parsing, then feeds the text into a language model to score significance and generate a short summary. Processed alerts are delivered to users via the Telegram Bot API. User subscriptions and settings are stored using [specify DB]. ## Challenges we ran into
- Filtering out noise: not every news item is actually market-moving
- Balancing processing speed with the quality of AI analysis
- Limited hackathon time forced us to focus tightly on the MVP ## Accomplishments that we're proud of We managed to build a full pipeline in a short time — from raw news collection to AI-scored analysis delivered straight to the user's messenger. ## What we learned We gained hands-on experience with prompt engineering for significance scoring, as well as working with the Telegram Bot API and real-time data processing. ## What's next for CryptoPunch AI
- Personalize alerts based on the user's portfolio
- Expand the list of news sources
- Add alert history and accuracy analytics for significance scoring
