Cryptocurrency markets are fast, noisy, and often overwhelming. Inspired by professional trading terminals like Bloomberg and Binance Pro, we set out to build a beginner-friendly but powerful analytics app that combines:

Market price dynamics (candlesticks, moving averages, Bollinger bands) Technical momentum indicators (RSI, MACD) Market health signals (volume, volatility, correlations) A forward-looking forecasting simulation

How We Built It: We used the synthetic cryptocurrency dataset (hourly, 2025) from Kaggle. The dataset contains price, volume, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, returns, and volatility. Platform: Built the app entirely on Plotly Studio (Pro trial). Designed charts as modular cards: overview KPIs, interactive line charts, heatmaps, and histograms. Features: Global filters for date, asset, price range, volume, and technical indicators. Multi-chart layout for storytelling flow: Overview → Trends → Indicators → Risk → Forecast. Futuristic UI: dark mode, neon accents, professional typography.

What We Learned How to structure a storytelling dashboard using Plotly Studio. How to effectively combine multiple technical indicators into one visual narrative. The importance of UX/UI in data storytelling — small design details like filters, legends, and colors can change how data is perceived.

Challenges We Faced AI Token Management: The free Plotly Pro plan only allows limited generations & edits, so we had to carefully plan before regenerating. Design Balance: Making the dashboard insightful but not overwhelming. Too many charts at once can confuse users. Forecasting Simulation: Since the dataset is synthetic, creating meaningful forward-looking trends required creativity and disclaimers. Performance: Handling large hourly data efficiently while keeping the app smooth.
