Inspiration

Most trading tools either oversimplify the market or throw beginners in with real money and no safety net. We wanted a middle ground — a place to practice reading live charts, sizing a leveraged trade, and understanding risk with paper money, backed by real data instead of mock numbers.

What is CryptoAnalyst?

CryptoAnalyst is an AI-powered trading companion that turns raw market data into clear decisions. It pairs live prices and real charts with Gemini-driven analysis — so instead of guessing your leverage, stop-loss, or entry, you get an instant risk breakdown, a live pros-and-cons review, and a trading-desk analyst you can actually chat with. Practice risk-free with $10,000 in paper trading, then bring the same discipline to real markets — all in one dashboard built for traders who want data and judgment working together, not just another chart.

What it does

CryptoAnalyst is a demo crypto trading platform built on live market data:

  • Trade Analyzer — set leverage, Stop Loss, and Take Profit, and watch them plotted live on a BTC/USDT chart with real-time margin, liquidation price, and risk/reward then Gemini will give pros.&cons. and future enhancements for trade.
  • Trading View — a live multi-chart grid (BTC, ETH, XRP, JUP) streaming real Binance candles.
  • GemiOpinion — an AI second opinion on your trade setup, powered by Gemini.
  • History & Insights — track past demo trades and spot patterns.

Every price and candle is real and live

How we built it

Plain HTML, Tailwind, and vanilla JS — no framework. A shared live-prices.js module streams from Binance's WebSocket ticker (falling back to CoinGecko if it drops), and a shared binance-chart.js module fetches OHLC data from Binance's REST API and renders it as hand-rolled SVG, reused across every chart on the site. AI opinions call Gemini directly using a api key .

Challenges we ran into

Our live-price ticker updates far more often than our 30s candle refetch, and for lower-priced pairs like JUP/USDT the recent candle range is tiny — so the live line kept getting clamped to a fixed edge and looking frozen. We fixed it by giving the live line its own stretch allowance separate from the Entry/SL/TP lines, and moving BTC and JUP to 1-hour candles for a steadier price range.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A fully live-data trading simulator with zero hardcoded prices, real risk math computed as you type, and an AI layer that's genuinely optional.

What we learned

Real-time financial data has edge cases you only find by watching a chart for a while — WebSocket reconnects, precision across price scales, and how much a chart depends on the right interval for the asset shown.

What's next for CryptoAnalyst

More pairs and timeframes, persisted trade history, AI explanations behind each opinion, and a backtesting mode.
