Inspiration
The Magic City brings the community together by the inclusivity of cultures from all around the world. Crypto305 is a method of easy payment when visiting the Magic City while contributing to its maintenance. It can also be used for everyday transactions.
What it does
Crypto305 was designed in a cross-platform manner to allow users to trade/pay with MiamiCoin so long as the bank/currency is linked. It allows for viewing all transactions (pending and completed), the most current stock exchange, and your available balance.
How we built it
The front end is was built using Javascript and typescript using the react framework. The backend Node.js, Express, and MySQL database. We also used the stacks network database to test the transfer of STX coins.
Challenges we ran into
Miami Coin is currently only available to be mined and it would roughly take 2 weeks to mine; So we had to STX instead as it use to get Miami Coin.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of the fact that we were able to set up a testing environment for STX as it was one of the biggest challenges we faced since none of our members were used to working with it.
What we learned
We learned about how cryptocurrencies work on the blockchain and how to set up a testing environment for blockchain transactions.
What's next for Crypto305
The next thing for Cryto305 would be mining some Miami Coin and swapping STX to Miami Coin as the only reason we didn't do that was due to the fact it does takes two week to mine Miami Coin.
