🚀 About CryptoShield

💡 Inspiration

The rapid growth of cryptocurrency has opened the door for innovation—but also for scams. Many users, especially beginners, fall victim to phishing links, fake airdrops, and malicious wallet interactions. We wanted to build a simple tool that helps users quickly assess risk and stay safe in the crypto space.

🛠️ What we built

CryptoShield is an AI-powered crypto safety tool that analyzes URLs, wallet activity, and project signals to detect potential scams. It provides users with a clear risk classification: Safe, Suspicious, or Scam, along with simple explanations.

⚙️ How we built it

Frontend: React with a clean, responsive dark UI
Backend: Node.js + Express API
Logic:
- URL keyword analysis (e.g., “airdrop”, “bonus”, “free”)
- Basic wallet activity heuristics
- Risk scoring system to classify inputs
Optional AI: Lightweight text analysis to enhance scam detection

How to rapidly prototype a full-stack application in a limited time

Designing simple but effective user experiences
Using AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining control

Limited time (36 hours) to build a complete working product
Accessing and simulating blockchain data reliably
Balancing simplicity with meaningful detection logic
Ensuring the UI clearly communicates risk without overwhelming users
